MinoTabs help
Short answers to the questions people ask most often.
Download the .dmg from minodeck.com/tabs/download, drag MinoTabs.app into Applications, launch it, and then install the matching Chrome extension when prompted. The whole flow is about 90 seconds. If you use multiple Chrome profiles, see the multi-profile entry below.
Chrome treats each profile as a separate privacy sandbox. An extension installed in one Chrome profile cannot see another profile's tabs, windows, or signed-in Google identity. This is Chrome's design, not a MinoTabs bug.
For MinoTabs, that means each Chrome profile you want to see in the sidebar needs its own MinoTabs extension install. After the extension is installed in a profile and connects once, the Mac app can show that profile's windows and group them by Google account.
To install MinoTabs in another Chrome profile:
1. Open Chrome, click the profile avatar in the top-right, and choose the target profile.
2. In that profile's window, open chrome://extensions.
3. In development builds, turn on Developer mode, choose "Load unpacked", and select the same extension/dist-local/ folder. In production, install MinoTabs from the Chrome Web Store in that profile.
Native Messaging is also profile-scoped. When the new profile's extension first connects, MinoTabs automatically allows that extension ID. You should not need a separate pairing step unless Chrome or the local development build changes the extension ID.
MinoTabs reads profile identity only locally so it can label groups in the sidebar. Tab metadata, profile email, and saved Spaces stay on your Mac and are not sent to MinoTabs servers.
Incognito windows are different. Chrome does not expose an incognito Google identity to extensions, so MinoTabs shows them as "Incognito" without an email.
Default hotkey is ⌥ Space. You can change it in Preferences › Hotkey. Common conflicts: Alfred and Raycast both default to ⌥ Space too — pick something else for one of them, or rebind MinoTabs to ⌥⇧ Space.
Open the tabs you want as a Space, press the Space-save shortcut (⌥⌘ S by default), give it a name. To restore later, open MinoTabs and start typing the Space name, or press ⌥ Space then ↑ to jump to the Spaces list.
You unlock Saved Spaces (unlimited), auto-restore on Mac wake, custom per-Space hotkeys, and profile labels. The Free tier keeps every base feature; Pro is purely additive.
Extension not detected → confirm it is enabled at chrome://extensions and that MinoTabs.app is running. Hotkey not working → another app may have claimed it (Alfred / Raycast / Karabiner). App crashed → MinoTabs auto-restarts; if it does not, relaunch and email minodeck0@gmail.com with the crash log from ~/Library/Logs/MinoTabs/.
We collect nothing by default. No analytics, no telemetry. Pro profile labels are opt-in and only use identity.email to differentiate your Chrome profiles. Tab data never leaves your Mac.
